Cosplay props can be expensive so any good ideas on where to get props or even make your own would be awesome ^_^

Prop courtesy is not over rated! Look after your props and they will look after you!
This post is mostly related to those of you who attend conventions in cosplay
Check the weapons policy for props like swords guns and axes every con is different and some may not accept weapons so reading the cons weapon policy can save you time money and sometimes embarrasment.
Consider how you are traveling with some props a giant staff on a crowded train may not be the best idea. Think of the best way to store and carry your props. It makes life easier for you and the everyone else.
If you are making your own props sometimes a lighter material works better polystyrene plastic and fabrics can sometimes replace wood and metal. It makes it easier to carry around with you all day. But sometimes it's better to chose a solid material if the prop can be broken balance is the key.
Always ask before touching someone elses props they may be fragile or just not want you to touch their things. If they do let you touch them treat them like they aee made of glass breaking someone elses prop is the worst thing that could happen at a con it's no fun for you or them
